Worry Box

A worry, sealed until tomorrow.

  • Write what you can't stop thinking about.
  • Lock it in.
  • Choose when the box opens — not before.
  • Most worries lose their grip in the meantime.

The clinic behind the app.

Den Krøllede Hjerne was founded in 2017 by Christoffer Kølgaard, autoriseret psykolog. The practice now spans three clinics on Zealand — Frederiksberg, Lyngby, Hillerød — and a team of nine licensed Danish psychologists. The app extends the practice: the same methods, the same voice, available in the moments between sessions.

Things people ask.

Things people ask.

Is this really free?
Yes — free to download, free to use. No ads. We don't sell your data. If we add a paid tier later, the current core stays available.
I'm already in therapy. Is this for me?
Especially for you. The behavioural-experiment + scheduled-follow-up loop is built for structured between-session practice, in the same methods your therapist uses — CBT, ACT, self-compassion.
How is this different from Headspace or Calm?
Those calm you. They don't address the thought that comes back five minutes later. This is built for the thought.
Why not just journal?
Journaling is here too. But on the days when “write what you feel” is one step too many, the app gives you a structured prompt — Challenge Your Thoughts, Sort Your Worries — that does the prep-work for you.
Is my data private?
Your journal entries, worries, and check-ins are encrypted locally on your phone (SQLCipher). Login is email-only — no password to leak. We don't sell anything.
Is it in English?
Yes. Built in Danish, written fresh in English.
When is this not the right thing?
If you're in acute crisis. This app is a practice tool, not a hotline. If you need to talk to someone now, the resources below are.
